We work continuously to reduce our environmental footprint. A key part of this is our production model: instead of requiring 60 employees to commute daily, our mobile-assemblers work from home — which is why we call them "homeworkers".
Every second week, we deliver raw materials and collect the finished, packaged mobiles, which are then transported to Frederiksminde, our family home, from where we send them out to all corners of the earth. This way of working has been part of Flensted Mobiles for more than 70 years and reduces environmental impact by saving several tons of fuel annually.
The story of our homeworkers began out of necessity in the 1950s: when Christian and Grethe Flensted could no longer keep up with demand, they asked a neighbour for help assembling their mobiles. This first step grew into the home-based production model we still rely on today.
We strive to make thoughtful choices when it comes to materials and packaging. Whenever possible, we prioritise durable materials and continuously evaluate how to reduce waste and unnecessary resource consumption — in both production and shipping.
